You’re not writing a manifesto or 500-page novel, but writing carefully-crafted social media messages is still important.

Mashable reported that Millennials are redefining the rules of spelling and grammar in social media, deliberately misspelling words and misusing grammar to convey tone or define expression. But for some audiences, this intentional disregard for rules can be off-putting.

Jorgen Sundberg, on the other hand, recommends using extra punctuation to make tweets easier to read and share and to make sure you use grammar properly, telling us that bad grammar reflects poorly on you and your business.

Ultimately, you need to write for your audience in a way that encourages engagement and growth, whether you follow the rules or completely ignore them.
