As the web has evolved, the use of images has multiplied and the need for high-quality images has become increasingly imperative.
Web pages are no longer presented as long, scrolling, text-only pages that appear like the chapter of a book. Faster web servers and increased storage capacities have allowed photography to become an integral part of web design. But their use has become expected.
For example, nearly every site has a full-size image that spans the entire width of the screen at the top of the page. But, what if you change that up?
As we move into 2019, expect to see more sites that explore alternative image presentation to enhance their design, draw attention and stand out. Rather than using photographs everywhere, look for layered images, photos combined with graphical elements and photos that are cut out and appear against a stark background. But to do this, photo and images must be high-quality.
