Search algorithms change surprisingly fast. Google and other search engines continue to tweak how results are selected in order to provide the best experience for their users based on how they search and where they want to find information.
In order to improve your search rankings, there are a number of new ways to think about SEO. Below are four from Nichole Demé:
User Twitter. Google indexes Twitter activity and serves up real-time tweets in their results pages. Include keywords within tweets as well as a link to your site and relevant hashtags.
Watch for hashtag trends. Trending hashtags can predict future search queries, allowing you to capitalize on real-time search interest.
Make sure users can find you. Focus on organic search optimization and your presence on social media channels, because the rise of ad-blocking software is going to make it more and more difficult for you to get in front of them.
Don’t just focus on Google. It’s not the only player in the search game.
