Facebook changed their ad text rules…again. But don’t worry – there’s a tool to help you create the most successful ads possible.
According to Facebook: “Previously, if 20% of an ad image’s area was text, it wouldn’t be approved to run on Facebook, Instagram or the Audience Network. While minimal text is still preferred, we’ve adopted a new system that allows you to run ads that would’ve been rejected under our old policy.”
Facebook goes on to say that,, although they will approve longer text ads, less text will result in more delivery. To help you figure out how much text is too much, they have provided a tool to help you determine whether or by how much your ad may be reduced before you set it to run.
This change opens up more design possibilities and messaging options; however, designers/marketers should still think “minimal text for optimal reach”.
