Marketers need to think about mobility, not just mobile.

 What’s the difference? According to CMO.com, mobility is a way of thinking about the customer experience beyond a mobile device. If mobile is the technology, mobility is the experience.

To further illustrate, Matt Asay, VP of mobile at Adobe, described mobile as browsing a retail website on a smartphone while sitting on a train. On the other hand, mobility, he posits, is having an app installed, which can send timely notifications based on location near or in a retail store.

This type of app can assist retailers with “mobile moments,” or a moment in time when a retailer can enhance customer experience based on location and timing, blending the “physical and digital worlds.”
