How does email marketing work now that the GDPR is in effect?

The European Union’s (EU) General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) went into effect on May 25, 2018. The law contains regulations for data protection and privacy for all individuals in the European Union, and also covers the export of personal data outside of the EU.

Now that the law is in effect, all businesses to take continued care in ensuring all communication with the EU is in compliance, as numerous lawsuits have already been filed against large companies across the globe.
