It’s a new year and time to look at coming trends in email marketing.
Email marketing has been around for quite some time and has evolved tremendously over the years. Monthly newsletters packed with a plethora of tangentially-related stories with the hopes of piquing the interest of a recipient from the full database of contacts have given way to more targeted segmentation and focused content, special offers, responsive design and personalization.
2019 will bring more of these same changes.
- There will be a continued focus on segmenting in email automation with smarter content and more granular targeting and nurturing.
- There will be more mobile optimization. Emails are being read more often than ever on mobile devices, with 75% of Gmail users using mobile devices to access their mail.
- There will be more personalization, not just in using mail merge tags to display a user’s name but in providing unique, tailored content.
