Content creation and management can quickly become unwieldy for any size company. A content or editorial calendar can help maintain organization, strategy and accountability.

Editorial calendars allow you to plan your content and map it to topics, buyer personas, promotions, campaigns, seasons and more. They also allow you to assign content to specific authors to provide accountability (who is writing, who is editing, who is updating?).

Calendars can be as simple as a wall calendar with post titles written on each day or a more complex calendar indicating planning, writing and editing stages, categories, authors, editors and timing using an Excel Gantt chart. The most important thing is finding what works for you.
