Instead of designing for desktop users and modifying for mobile users, why not consider mobile users first?
Websites are no longer primarily viewed on desktops, so why do we continue to design for desktop users first? Yes, they have to be accounted for, but doesn’t it make more sense to start with the majority, and work backwards? We certainly think so.
So how do you design your website to create a better mobile experience? There are 3 main factors that contribute to a better mobile user experience:
- Page load speed. (Make it super fast.)
- Personalization. (Be human.)
- Consistency. (Give users what they expect.)
If your site is designed with these factors in mind, you’re more likely to satisfy your mobile audience. And the best part is, you won’t have to rebuild for your desktop users.
