“Dead” Subscribers

A large email list can be nice to have, but if users are not interested in or engaged with your content, a large list can do more harm than good.

Subscribers can become unengaged for a variety of reasons. Unfortunately, these “dead” subscribers can affect email deliverability and even your email reputation.

In order to keep your list healthy, take steps to attempt to re-engage subscribers periodically. This could include:

  • Adjusting content so it resonates better

  • Sending a “re-permission” email

  • Asking subscribers what they think

After you have completed your re-engagement campaign, don’t be afraid to say good-bye and remove those email addresses that remain inactive.
