Lawyers are taking action against businesses whose websites are not ADA compliant, even before ever reaching out to them as a courtesy.

We’ve mentioned the importance of ADA website compliance before; but if you weren’t worried about it previously, you might want to think again.

ADA website lawsuits increased 181% between 2017 and 2018 and are expected to rise again. Worse, plaintiff lawyers, seeing themselves as activists, are taking action before ever reaching out to small businesses who don’t even know they are doing anything wrong. According to ABC News, attorneys are simply demanding money, taking advantage of what business don’t know about compliance and their rights.
