Is it possible to do keyword research in 30 minutes? While it may not be exceptionally in-depth, it’ll do in a crunch.

One way to do simple keyword research is to see what other top industry websites are doing. See what categories pop up most in their navigation and blog, and compare them to your site. Using advanced Google operators, you can find categories and topics without having to click through entire websites.

To back up your findings, type the industry or category you want to develop keywords for into Google Suggest. The results are what most people are searching for, so they’re likely to be pretty relevant keywords and topics.

Next, stick your list into Google Keyword Planner to find out how many people are searching for these terms, and the respective competition for them. Take your best keywords and put them into Moz Keyword Explorer, and choose the keywords that are most relevant to your industry.
